Located at Calle del Cristo 255 in Old San Juan, the museum was founded in 1955 by bibliophile and historian Ricardo Alegría, the same cultural visionary behind the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña (ICP).
The exhibition took place in conjunction with the Segunda Bienal de San Juan del Grabado Latinoamericano (1972).
